TERMS AND CONDITIONS
By using our services, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
'Services' refer to anything provided by Britannia Plumbers pertaining to plumbing, heating and gas including;
Emergency call outs
For the purpose of these terms & conditions the parties involved will be referred to as;
“Us/We/Our” refers to Britannia Plumbers and Development Limited.
“You” refers to you: the customer (the person or organisation for whom we agree to carry out work and/or supply or materials).
“Plumbers/Engineers” refers to the representative(s) appointed by Britannia Plumbers to provide our services. We reserve the right to designate the plumbers/engineers who will represent us.
The grand total listed on our invoices consists of;
Labour - the amount of time spent by the representative carrying out work including diagnostics and any time spent in obtaining non-stocked materials.
Materials sourced by us plus a 10% markup on gross cost.
Vehicle fees including but not limited to; parking costs, London congestion charge and ULEZ charge.
You will only be charged for the time spent related to your work. All other time, i.e. lunch breaks, is non-chargeable. Day and evening rates are defined as 8am to 6pm and 6pm to 8am respectively. We charge a minimum of 1 hour for a callout with 30 minute increments thereafter.
INVOICING & PAYMENT
Payment is due on receipt of invoice which is sent on completion of work. It is our policy to take payment on site via card terminal. Where this is not possible, a payment link will be sent via SMS message or email. You accept liability to make payment in full, unless an exception has been stated in writing prior to work being carried out. A one week grace period will be given after which point we reserve the right to pursue legal action to recover outstanding funds. Invoices are subject to value added tax (VAT) at the current rate of 20%. Further work cannot be scheduled where invoices are outstanding.
All quotations are free of charge with no obligation to proceed. You have 30 days from the initial quotation date to accept our offer. We do our best to provide accurate estimates but cannot guarantee that the scope of work may increase once the job is undertaken and the final cost may be higher
Where work has been scheduled in advance, we will endeavour to ensure that our representative arrives within the designated window of time. We accept no liability in respect of the non or late-attendance of said representative or for the late of materials. We will not be liable for any delay, or for the consequences of any delay, in performing any of our obligations if such delay is due to any cause beyond our reasonable control, and we will be entitled to a reasonable extension of the time for performing such obligations. In the event of a cancelled appointment, we require at least 24 hours notice by phone or email. A charge will be made dependent on the length of time allocated for carrying out the service or estimate. You will be liable for any material purchased specifically for that job if it cannot be rescheduled. This will be advised to you before any payment is taken. Work cannot be scheduled where there are existing invoices outstanding.
SERVICES PROVIDED ON SITE
Whilst carrying out work, carpets, flooring and other fixtures may need to be lifted/removed. We will endeavour to return said items to as near as original condition as possible. If a powerflush is carried out to remove debris from a central heating system, this can reveal previously undetected faults, weaknesses or breaches. We cannot be held responsible for any pre-existing conditions which may be exposed, or any resulting damage which might occur.
Britannia Plumbers are committed to providing excellent workmanship. If, after we have carried out the work, you are not completely satisfied with our service(s) you must provide us with written notice within 30 days of completion of work. You must allow us, and our insurers, the opportunity to both inspect and carry out remedial work where appropriate. If you fail to notify us, as outlined above, then we will not be liable in respect of any defects in the work carried out. We provide a 12 month guarantee on labour carried out by a Britannia Plumbers' representative, in respect of faulty or improper workmanship. This is active from the date of completion of work, in addition to any manufacturer’s warranty/warranties. The guarantee will not be applicable if any of equipment/hardware relating to the work carried out falls under the following scenarios;
Subject to misuse or negligence.
Repaired, modified or tampered with by anyone other than a Britannia Plumbers engineer. We will accept no liability for, or guarantee suitability, materials supplied by you & will accept no liability for any consequential damage or fault.
We will not guarantee any work in respect of:
Blockages in waste or drainage systems.
Any work undertaken on instruction from you and against the written or verbal advice of the tradesperson.
Work is only guaranteed in respect of work directly undertaken by us and with full payment having been made. Any non-related faults arising from recommended work which has not been undertaken by us will not be guaranteed. Where we agree to carry out work on installations of inferior quality (or over 10 years old) no warranty is given in respect of such work and we accept no liability in respect of the effectiveness of such work or otherwise. We will only be liable for rectifying our own guaranteed work, and will not be held responsible for any ensuing damage or claims resulting from other work overlooked or subsequently requested and not undertaken at the time.
We will not be held liable or responsible for any damage or defect resulting from work not fully guaranteed, or where recommended work has not been carried out.
We shall not be held liable for any delay, or consequences of any delay, in performing our obligations if such a delay is due to any cause beyond our reasonable control and we shall be entitled to reasonable time extensions. You will be solely liable for any hazardous situation in respect of the Gas Safe Regulations or any Gas Warning Notice issued by a Britannia Plumbers engineer. Our engineers operate under their own individual Gas Safe Registration and, as such, are solely responsible for any gas related work and subsequent liability.
Goods supplied and delivered by us to you, or your premises, shall remain our property until paid for by you in full. Whilst goods remain our property we have the absolute authority to:
Retake, sell or otherwise deal with or dispose of all or any part of these goods.
Seek a court injunction to prevent you from selling, transferring or otherwise disposing of such goods.
These terms and conditions may not be released, discharged, supplemented, interpreted, varied or modified in any manner except by an instrument in writing signed by a duly authorised representative and you. Our terms and conditions will prevail over any terms and conditions used by you or contained, set out or referred to in any documentation sent to us by you. By entering into a contract with us you agree irrevocably to waive the application of any of these terms and conditions.
